Summer Holidays
Summer is nearly over. It seems like months rather than 6 weeks! Grace has been really bored this summer, its more difficult than ever taking all 3 children out mainly because Grace can be quite demanding when out. The heat aswell never helps and we have struggled with that this year.
Still we have had some family days out and it has been nice not having to get up for the school run, although we moved in march to a house right opposite Grace’s school which is handy for her as it means no long bus journey now to and from school but it does mean taking her to drop rose off and getting them all ready on time in the morning is an effort. Just after the kids broke up from school we tried out a new walker for Grace. I have forgotten the name of it but will upload a new story when it arrives.
I feel slightly let down that the walker was not sorted a few years back but Grace was not as strong a she is now so i wont dwell on it, just hope she can use it and gain more strength. I wish i had taken a video of Grace using it but i was too busy helping guide it through the downstairs hallway and kitchen.
As for summer activities we have kept close to home this year. Grace has been obsessed with sand so we have enjoyed lots of sand and water play. I bought a tray they use at the nursery and it is great for all sorts of messy play and so easy to clean. You can buy them from amazon and Ebay will post a link on the facebook support page as i believe they are a must have for children of all abilities.
Grace really misses school in the holidays she is thriving and school stimulates her every second of the day wheres at home sometimes that just is not possible. I shall miss having her home she is so noisy the house feels empty when she isn’t home shouting ‘helllllooo’ every 5 seconds and i mean that is every 5 seconds, they told me when she was small and diagnosed that she would have no speech…well i have news for them!
