Christmas Gift Ideas
Is it me or do you struggle to find the perfect gift for your child with additional needs? I get so tired of searching the internet for appropriate toys, or toys that will be interesting for more than 10 minutes. Not only that but searching for toys is a constant reminder the 11-year-old we have is still the age of a toddler when it comes to toys.
Especially at Christmas time I always find it difficult to find a toy that will have lots of play out it. Many toys are not good if they have small parts, as a lot of us still have a fear of choking hazards, and although Grace has come a long way with her fine motor skills they are not advanced enough for lego or anything that involved masses of concentration.
I have spent months hunting for a Christmas gift and I think I’ve found the perfect thing! Grace has always loved repetition in play. Being able to empty a bag and fill it is one of her favorite things. It was one of the very first things Grace learned and she enjoys the excitement of what’s in the bucket or bag.
I found this fun toy on a website that sells gifts, disability aids, and toys for children with additional needs. It is basically a plank of wood with a bag on the back of it, the child just puts their hand in and picks out the contents, in my case, it has lots of sensory toys inside. I also purchased the huge bag of sensory toys from the website as well. If you are struggling to find something, it’s worth having a look on here as they have a wide range of goodies. It would be useful to see what you have found useful over the years to buy for Christmas. Please leave your comments and share the page.

We had the best gift last year, a magnetic bird and worm set from amazon, We had hours of fun from that, it has been reordered this year as we lost a few worms over the year! This was a simple game yet very effective, easy to use for small hands and the magnet is quite strong so the worms are easy to collect. You can find it here via the link:
